My dearest Jen...oh how I miss thee!

Well, although I had a great week at camp, I unfortunately had to come home to the reality that my best friend out here in Chilliwack, Jen LaRoy, is leaving me. Wait...change that...HAS left me! She moved to Edmonton to do her Masters of Physiotherapy at U of A and oh how I miss her already. The worst part was that we hardly saw each other at all this month because of holidays and then I was at volleyball camp last week. So we basically had one brief afternoon (the day I flew in from Saskatchewan) to hang out and say our "farewells"---which was totally brutal! And now she is gone and there is a deep void in my soul... and my social life! Jen...I miss you so much already! I will be praying that school goes well and that the transition to a new city will go as smoothly as possible. But you will be deeply missed and I hope that we'll be able to visit each other more than just at Christmas and during the summer! I'll do my best to get out there to see you whenever I possibly can!
So here are some pictures of US! Hope they bring happy memories to you as much as they do for me! Love you lots Jen!

Keep in touch girl and make sure you send me your new address & phone number ASAP!! Talk to you soon!

Home Sweet Home

Well...I'm back. I spent the last week coaching and instructing at Bethany's annual volleyball camp and had a fabulous time doing so! It was definitely a long week but totally worthwhile. I especially enjoyed all the late nights with the other staff...laughing ourselves sick about things that most likely weren't that funny, but seemed so to us! Colin, Luke, Matt R. & Matt S. ...need I say more!? What a great week...hope to see you all back again next summer!
So although it was a sweet week of volleyball, I must say that it feels pretty incredible to come home to my wonderful husband! This was the longest amount of time that we have spent apart from each other since we've been married and it was actually quite a bit tougher than either of us expected! Nothing quite rejuvenates a relationship like time spent apart! It hit me quite hard just how much I take Jon for granted.....not purposely of course, but once you get into a routine and get used to just having that person there, its crazy how much you stop counting your blessings, hey!? Anyway...its good to be home and now its back to reality. I start back full-time at the Design firm next week and am a little nervous at how weird it will feel after having the month off. Full-time there means its my last full week at Chilliwack Decorating...i'll only be there on Mondays from now on and will miss all the girls I work with immensely! You guys are so much fun and I promise to visit as often as I can!
Welp...I must go for now but I'll post again soon. Have a great week everyone!

Ava Update

So I leave for Saskatoon tomorrow and should really be finishing my packing, but I wanted to add a few more pictures of Ava before I leave. I'll be at Bethany's volleyball camp for the next week and won't be able to post while I am there so I want to get a bit more in before then. Konrad is seriously so excited about his little sister...all he says is "Baby Ava!...Konrad see baby Ava!" And its pretty cute to see how much he wants to hold her and cuddle her and shower her with kisses! I added some pictures of him showing his undying affection for her:) I also finally got a picture of Jon holding her. He has been really sick with a cold and didn't want to get her sick when we went to see her in the hospital, so he finally held her today. After our visit with Erich & Naomi, we took Konrad to our place for the evening and enjoyed having him to ourselves for a few hours....as you can see, he just HAS to be close to his "Unca Jon." I do love watching the two of them play...its so entertaining!
Anyway...I really should get back to packing seeing as I have to be at the Abbotsford airport by 6am tomorrow morning...ugghh! So i'll sign off for now. Have a great week everyone and I'll talk to you when I get back!

Congratulations E and N ...and K too!

Ok, so I know I have been blogging about babies a lot lately but I am just SO excited to announce the arrival of the newest member of our family! Jon's sister and brother-in-law had a BABY GIRL this morning! We're an Aunt and Uncle again....and thrilled to pieces! Her name is Ava Indiana and was born at 8:17am. She's 6lbs. 9oz. and 19 inches long and absolutely ADORABLE!! Her big brother K was apparently ecstatic about his new sister and even offered her his McDonald's happy meal :) N had to explain that baby Ava had to have milk and his response was "ooohhh.....food!" What a cutie!
Ava is doing well, as is N and they were actually already going to be taking her home tonight. They had to share a room with another lady and were finding it too noisy to get any rest, so after having the doctor give the A-OK, they were going to be taking Ava home. Hopefullly they'll get a good night's sleep and be ready to tackle the "parenting" thing again! Should be fun...a new little baby and a very energetic toddler!
Welp, we love you guys and are truly so blessed to have such a wonderful niece and nephew...can't wait to spoil Ava rotten!

Ava Indiana... welcome to the family! We love you so much already!

I do LOVE being an Auntie!

Here we are...the very proud Auntie and Uncle!

Adia Grace

Last night we had a baby shower for my friend Laurie and her new little girl, Adia Grace. It was just a small group of us girls that have been getting together "somewhat regularly" on Monday nights for the last year. And although it wasn't a surprise shower, we still all felt the urge to shout "SURPRISE" when Laurie and Adia arrived... it was pretty funny...mostly corny though!

Well, Adia definitely stole the show with her many smiles and funny new sounds... it was so crazy how much she has grown over the last few weeks. She is almost 6 weeks old now and is already full of life! We're so excited to be a part of her life and to watch her grow and discover new things about life...and of course, do all those important things girls need to do...shopping being right near the top of the list! Laurie, you've definitely got a "keeper!" We love you so much Adia!

Here are just a few pictures from our evening together...

Jen & baby Adia---Jen just can't get enough of her new little niece!

Isn't she just too cute for her own good!?

Adia & I---its crazy how strong she is getting...she looks small here but she definitely started to feel heavy with all the squirming she was doing!

Here's my sister Viv holding little Adia...I'm telling ya...just TOO cute!

Welcome Home Leah!

Today is a very exciting day....my best friend Leah gets home from Denmark! She has been there for about the last 3 months and it has felt agonizingly LONG (probably more for me than her!) Leah and I met at Capernwray New Zealand in 2003 and have been great friends ever since. Although she lives in Regina, SK, we try to keep in touch as much as possible. I am sure any of you who have good friends in other provinces can relate to how tough it can be. But a little distance doesn't change the fact that Leah is a great friend and that I hope we'll be friends even when we're old and gray! So Leah, welcome home!!...I missed you! I hope the last bit of your trip was awesome and I can't wait to see you next week when I come out to Saskatchewan! Love ya!

Leah played guitar at our wedding ceremony as I walked down the aisle. She did such a great job and it meant so much to me!

Christmas at the Glen's...Leah and I were pretty intent on our rousing game of Mad Gab!

Leah, Jen & I...you guys are truly incredible friends!

Slow & Steady wins the Race!

Hey everyone! Just proving once again that the above statement must be true! I am slow at figuring out this blogging business, but I am getting there none the less. I have now enabled the comment button on my blog page...I was starting to wonder if no one loved me enough to drop me a line, and then i realized....DUH....I had the comment button disabled and so I guess it was impossible. So I apologize if anyone has been trying to leave comments...I would love to hear from you, so please feel free from now on! Sorry for all the confusion...I am still trying to figure everything out and I guess I am not as "technologically inclined" as I thought I was! Anyway...COMMENT AWAY!!

Its been too long

So I will start by apologizing for my lack of blogging lately but life has been a bit chaotic to say the least. We were in Edmonton the last weekend in July for one of my Capernwray roomies weddings. Then we spent the first week of August down on the Oregon Coast with my family, camping....then we went to Whistler to celebrate our 1st anniversary, and then had my family stay with us for the next week. Both Jon and I had to go back to work this week so there hasn't been much time for blogging. But I am here now and will do my best to update you on the latest. First of all, just want to let you know that I am currently starting a new blog page (on IWeb) because as you know, I have had a tough time with uploading pics on this PC based website. So, making one on IWeb is FAR easier and quicker and as soon as I figure out how to actually get it on an internet site, I will let you know. But for now, I am stuck with this so I will try to be patient and get as many pictures on as possible.
Oregon was IN-credible....I highly recommend it to all you coast lovers! Totally beautiful landscape and lots of fun stuff to do and see. We camped in a place called Warrenton which is just a few miles South of Astoria, and then took day trips down to Seaside and Cannon Beach...which were particularly beautiful.
It was so awesome to have my whole family out here for holidays and to be able to go camping as a family. We had a blast and its always fun to laugh til our bellies hurt! Craig and Jen stayed at our place and my parents stayed with my sister Viv. The boys did a lot of golfing and us girls did a lot of shopping! They left Saturday morning and I miss them already!
Whistler was also really fun. Jon had planned quite a romantic getaway and we stayed in a super nice hotel, with in suite jacuzzi and all. We had a really nice dinner that night and just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company...which isn't too tough!
Anyway...now we are back to reality for another week of work and then I, Bonnie, leave for Bethany Sports Camps next Saturday. I am going to coach at the volleyball camp and am really looking forward to connecting with those of you who I haven't seen in a while. Plus its always fun to play a little volleyball!
So, here a just a few pictures for you to enjoy and I'll blog again as soon as I get the chance! Have a great week!
