Had cofee with the girls tonight. And I must say, I have some truly great friends! (Sure do miss you Jen...wish you could've been there too!) I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!! Plus it is so fun to have little Adia around now too...she is just too cute and so entertaining. We wrapped her up in Jamie's scarf because she was starting to fuss a bit and she loved it. We called her the little Indian princess :)
What a great evening...
Isn't she adorable!?

Lights Out!
What a great day its turning out to be! Got to work for 8:30am, power went out at 9:15am, waited for it to come back on, it didn't...which means, A DAY OFF!! Right on! Guess this is the Lord's way of treating me to a long weekend seeing as I didn't get one last weekend :) I guess I shouldn't have complained because God is good----and so is this day!
Not sure what I'll do for the rest of the day but I'm sure I'll think of something. :) Todd & Brianne...see you tonight! And to the rest of you, have a SUPER weekend!

Bridal Shower Bliss
Last night I hosted a surprise bridal shower for my friend Mary. We used to work together when I worked at the daycare.
So the daycare staff kidnapped & blind-folded her....and it worked! She was definitely surprised! We had a lot of fun and the food was GREAT-- everyone brought hors doeuvres! And Mary got some really great gifts.
The wedding is this Saturday so the excitement is building :) Congratulations Mary & Rob!

A So Called "Long" Weekend
So I don't mean to complain, and I am sure there are many of you out there who also experienced a "non-long weekend" but I really felt jipped this weekend. Here's why. So seeing as I work at Chilliwack Decorating/Benjamin Moore ONLY on Mondays, and then work Tuesday-Friday at the interior design firm, I didn't get a long weekend. I WOULD have if I worked Monday-Friday at the design firm, because my boss doesn't work Saturdays and so Monday was her stat. But unfortunately, Ben Moore decided to take Saturday as their stat and seeing as I don't work there on Saturdays, that meant that they were open for business today. Therefore meaning NO LONG WEEKEND FOR ME!
But in spite of only having a two day weekend, it was still pretty good.
Friday night was the usual Todd & Brianne hangout night. The guys played vids at T&B's while Brianne and I did a little Christmas shopping. And although it started out quite unsuccessfully, I did manage to put a dent in my shopping list. I was quite proud actually because I'm usually shopping for gifts to the bitter end. Hopefully this year I'll be able to get it done sooner that later.
Anyway...Saturday was another shopping day only this time it was "mom's day out." My sister-in-law Naomi and I spent the day with our mom's. The day started with a little Tim Horton's, then Michael's, Linen N Things, Home Outfitters, Winners & HomeSense, lunch at The Pantry, and Costco to finish off the day. Quite enjoyable...especially because I found some great deals and put another little dent in my Christmas shopping list.
Sunday night was especially fun though. Brianne and I went to my cousin Annette's place for a "Stampin' Up" Christmas workshop. (For those that don't know what Stampin' Up is, its basically a scrapbooking/card making company that makes stamps, stamp pads and all kinds of those "crafty" supplies and they offer workshops.) The demonstrator Kerri took us through some different card making methods and then at the end we all got to craft our own Christmas card. I really enjoyed it because I used to spend a lot of time crafting things and doing scrapbooking, but have kind of stopped due to the busyness of life. It was good to be creative for an evening. And I am going to be hosting a Stampin' Up workshop in January so that will be fun too.
So I think I am going to attempt to make our Christmas cards this year. I know Brianne is planning on it, and the more I think about it, the more I think I would enjoy it. I have never taken on a task like making Christmas cards before and it intimidates me a bit just because of the number of them I'll have to make but hopefully it will work out. Guess time will tell :)

A Little Sister Time...
Well, I have posted quite a bit lately but I haven't really given an update on life in a while so I guess I should.
Last night, Viv and I had a little "sister bonding" time....did a bit of baking. It was quite enjoyable....well, it was AFTER I got past the frustration of my stupid beater not working. Grrrrr.....
Viv and I haven't hung out much lately so it was fun to just relax and do some catch up. Sisters are WONDERFUL hey!? (*Note: I am not actually eating the batter in that picture...just being a goof. But now that I look at it, it looks like I am actually licking the spoon. Rest assured...I AM NOT!)
Jon and I have both been quite busy with work. In fact, other than work, life has been pretty "uneventful." We are both really looking forward to our week in Palm Springs. Only a week and a 1/2 to go!
Work is going well though. I am glad to have my boss back after her 3 1/2 week holiday. Things got pretty stressful at the design firm while she was away. I managed to "run the fort" in her absence but its definitely nice to have her back.
Jon is LOVING his work right now. He was doing construction for his uncle in Mission but he's done that now. The last two weeks he's been doing an independent renovation for Nick's Lighting in Chilliwack. (He loves the fact that he doesn't have to commute anymore!) Nick's Lighting is a retail store here in Chilliwack, but they also have a warehouse that they are hoping to turn into a clearance store. So Jon's getting it ready for that---drywalling, mudding, painting, laying laminate flooring, and anything else it takes to get the warehouse up and running. He loves working independently and he also just loves the type of work he's doing. He's a real "jack of all trades" and enjoys the variety of his work.
Other than that, not much is new. So rather than rambling on about nothing, I'll sign off for now. But I promise to keep you informed if anything "exciting" happens in our lives in the days to come :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Steve Bell is coming to town...
Looking forward to tomorrow night! Steve Bell is going to be in concert in Abbotsford at Northview Church. Its going to be sweet!
I always love hearing him in concert. He's not only a good singer/guitarist but he's funny too...it always feels like a concert/comedy act all in one show :)
Should be a good time!
