Much Ado about Nothing...

I've been feeling the need to post, and yet, every time I sit down to do so, I completely blank out. I have no idea what to write about. Perhaps its due to the fact that I have been spending a lot of my time off at home. I really thought with less work hours, I'd have lots to talk about. Apparently, not the case. Oh well... I've started now so I might as well go with it...

I did have an awesome Friday night with my Dad though. Jon and I got Dad tickets to see the Canucks for his birthday and I somehow managed to get "nominated" to go to the game with Dad :) Neither of us had ever been to an NHL game so it was a pretty special thing to experience together. Unfortunately the Canucks lost (and to the Kings... talk about disappointment!) but it was still an exciting game to watch. I've been to a lot of professional sporting events but the volume and "fan loyalty" in GM Place on Friday night was definitely more intense than I thought it would be. All in all, it was a really great experience and I was thrilled to have spent it with my Dad! Love you Pops...

As for my time off, its been really nice so far. I haven't done a whole lot but its been very relaxing and I feel like I've caught up on a lot of sleep... if that's even possible. I will be going in to work tomorrow and on Wednesday, but that will be it until my boss gets back on Nov.5. There just isn't enough to do at the office. Guess I'll have even more time for "coffee dates" than I had originally anticipated :)

One thing we've been loving about our new house is the location. Erich & Naomi are just around the corner from us so we've been spending a lot of time with them lately. And seeing as Jon and I would both admit to being somewhat "addicted" to our niece and nephew, any time spent with them is a very good thing :) Here are some fun pictures & videos of our evening with the kidlets...

Ava smiling for the camera, as usual...
This is Konrad's "CHEESE!" face...
Wrestling with Uncle Jon...
Ava was too busy watching the fish to smile this time...
More smiles... as you can see, Konrad is really concentrating for this picture :)
Cuddle time...
Naomi and I put Ava's hair in a ponytail for the first time tonight... isn't she cute!?
"CHEEEEEEESE!"

Konrad discovered that Uncle Jon serves quite well as a human jungle gym...

And Ava discovered that ceiling fans can also be quite entertaining...

Well, this actually turned out to be longer than I had anticipated so I think I'll go join my hubby on the couch for a little TV time. Have a great week everyone!

Hi Bonnie! I say...savor the week of nothingness. They're always a little bewildering at first... but I find that once I embrace it strange things happen... like I actually relax!

Also, I think it's great that you are having so much fun with the kiddos. :) They look precious!!!

Hey Bonnie:

Thanks for the input. I am still having a tough time with the whole blinds thing. I'm just not sure if it is better to do the dark or go with white you know??! I like the idea of the dark but I don't want it to be too dark. It's so hard to imagine. I can't find your last comment on your thoughts on blind colors, etc. Can you just give me your opinion one more time!? I'm just a bit concerned that the dark blinds with light trim won't look right, and yet I have seen it done in books and stuff, is it just personal preference or is there a rule of thumb for blinds too?
Thanks so much...
