Happy Halloween!

We had a couple of costume options for Callie's 1st Halloween, but since they were all so cute & it was just too hard to choose, we decided she would dress up in all 3!

Our little butterfly...

A perfect garden flower...

Our tasty "Halloweiner"...

Oh those are very cute! We didn't have a costume for Halloween this year for Owen... couldn't justify spending money on one and didn't find one to borrow in time. Oh well. Next year.

my favorite is the garden flower, but really- picking a favorite is just silly when your girlie is so cute :)

She is the most delicious looking hotdog I've ever seen. Mom says she is such a Dolly and that Jon is going to have to protect her from all the boys. Love you and wish I could have been there for Callie's first Halloween!

Are you kidding me?!?! She is so stinking cute! I can't handle the Halloweiner! Ha ha! She will get you for that when she gets older. I hope to meet her one day and give her a big squish!

Hey Bonnie,

If you have pics of my kids on Halloween, I'd love to see them, I miss their little smiles and hugs

I miss you and that precious little girl. The second picture from the bottom is way too cute. It breaks my heart to be away from such beautiful women.
Love
Jon

Sorry Nome, but I didn't take my camera over to your place that night. Erich is the only one with pictures of the kids' costumes. Maybe ask him to email them to you.

So let me get this straight. You're busy taking money from people so you can go on a trip, yet you have the money to buy THREE costumes that your kid will never fit in again?

How appropriate.

Anonymous,

For your information, all THREE costumes were either given / loaned to Bonnie.

How "courageous" of you to leave your name.

Bonnie's Mum.

Actually 'anonymous,' two of the costumes were gifts from Callie's grandma, and the third one was borrowed from her cousins. Not that I should have to justify it to someone as rude as yourself.

Without sounding like I'm sticking up for "anonymous" and/or offending you (I'm like you, Bonnie... criticism really bothers me), I guess I can see their point. I see so many people asking others for money, yet they still find the funds to go out and do things or buy things that they really shouldn't be buying. Tickets to a basketball game, or a big concert, or your mom buying costumes. Wouldn't you want that money to go towards your mission trip? That is something that has always bothered me. Even if the tickets were bought ahead of time, I know I would sell them before asking people to donate to me. Not everyone would do the same of course, so that is what makes our world so unique and beautiful. I guess what I mean is that I can understand why the person said that, though they may not have worded it in the nicest manner.

Julie-- First of all, we never ever asked anyone for money for our trip to Thailand. We didn't even tell people what we needed financially. We only asked for prayer. God is the one who provided the money, and He did so by generous people, who heard about the possibility, and offered their donations without us ever even saying we needed them to offer it.
And second of all, MY biggest pet peeve is when people get the idea that they "own" missionaries just because they support them financially. They are human just like you and me, and deserve to enjoy some of the "perks" of life every now and then. Why should they be "monitored" by others? Just because they're doing God's work? I think that is unfair.
Selling the tickets wouldn't have been a possibility because if I do recall, the game happened even before the Thailand trip came up. And as for the costumes, its not up to us where Callie's grandma puts her money. Of course the money would be better used for the trip, but that wasn't up to us. She does with her money as she pleases.
You're more than entitled to your own opinion but it sounds to me like you think people get to decide where and when missionaries get to spend their money and that is totally unfair in my opinion.
And if you don't mind me asking, do I know you? I know a lot of Julie's so I'm unsure of who you are.
