I'm not so sure anymore...

I'm going to be perfectly honest... I'm starting to wonder whether this is really worthwhile anymore. When I first started blogging last year, I wasn't so sure that I'd enjoy it or even have anything to say. But then it just clicked... and I realized that I really did enjoy writing. I enjoyed the thought of knowing my friends and family far away would be able to "keep up" with what was new in our lives. I enjoyed getting comments from fellow bloggers and smiling at their encouragement and input. I enjoyed something as cheesy sounding as "blogging." :)

But now I'm torn. And as silly as that might sound to some of you, its true. I can't lie that it has been a little discouraging lately to find that almost no one stops by here anymore. And if you're sitting there right now saying, "But I do!" then I'm sorry, but I have no way of knowing that. I'm not saying that people are obligated to say hi or comment on every insignificant thing I may post about, and I'm certainly not writing this to start a pity party (I mean, really, this is blogging we're talking about... its no big deal). But I've really started to question whether anyone even reads this anymore. And if that is the case, then who am I kidding... what's the point?

I wasn't going to post this because the more I read over it, the more pathetic I felt about what I am saying. Maybe I'm just in one of those moods today where everything is getting me down. Perhaps I'm just having an off day. Maybe its not "blogging" that is the issue. I don't know...

Maybe I just need to get some food in my stomach :) And with that, I'm going to eat dinner. Sorry for the rant everyone. Perhaps I do need this blog... even if its just to get things off my chest...

Well, you know I read it all the time, but I do agree no comments can be very discouraging!

Hey, I'm here, but you probably know that I don't spend quite as much time on blogger as I used to (hence, the one blog post a month that I muster up!). I like to hear about what's going on in your life, and this has been a good way to keep up. Even if I catch up once a month!! Facebook has been death to my blog, but Caleb's grandparents aren't on Facebook, and the setup doesn't allow for the same kind of continuity that blogging allows for. That's also why I don't like myspace. But anyways, I do read, and enjoy your blog. It's up to you, though. If it's something you feel like you have to do, rather than something you want to do, take a break for a while. Love ya Bon. And by the way, totally jealous of the digs...your house looks amazing!! We are hoping to sell ours next spring and buy a new one!! And now that the novel is done....

Hey, I check your blog daily...sometimes a few times just incase I missed the update. I'm not a big commenter (nor do I know you that well....so it feels a little strange)...so sorry...I know that you have written on our blog and that certainly is an encouragement....maybe it's about time I stepped out of my shell and give a thought or two on your blog (and others for that matter) Don't stop, I'd hate to deleate your blog off my list of bloggers...it gives me (a stay at home mommy) something to look forward to reading!

Hi Bonnie,
I stop by pretty often too. I know we don't know each other super well but I do like to keep up on whats new in your life. And I like the thoughts that you share. I often find myself encouraged by what you say. So I am going to hope yesterday was just an off day and that you will keep blogging! Hope you have a restful weekend!

You know I love your blog... and also how I feel about blogs as I've blogged about it. Remember, blogging is more for you and if anyone else gets it... bonus. If it stops being fun, dump it and run. Life is too short for obligations.

Much love,

Almost No One

i'm so sure that tons of people check your blog...i'm just one of the bad ones that doesn't comment! i've gotten so bad for that lately! i'm sorry babe!!! :) i LOVE your blog, i LOVE knowing what's going on in your life. you're super special to me. I agree about the site meter. I was so surprised when my blog was read 200 times in one week...you should check it out. and another thing that has really worked well for me - is blogging for ME...not caring about what people think when they read it - or really WHO is reading it, but knowing that it made me feel better to type it, and that i'm getting my feelings down, my experiences somewhere I can look back & learn from them, and just having fun blogging...do it for YOU, not for us, otherwise it's not worth it, and not much fun.
i LOVE you.

One more thing... recently I was looking back through my old posts and realized that I have a pretty greal life journal of sorts going here. I am NOT a journaler by any stretch of the imagination... blogging is a way that I can hold on to the memories. Or at least visit them from time to time.

I put blog hits counter on my blog and it's tons of fun. I don't know how to do it on blogger, but if you move to wordpress it's a cinch!

I totally do! I've been swamped lately, but I sure like the break to stop by and check out peoples sites, even if I don't have the energy to comment. Love it. I'd be sad if you left us. :)

Hi Bonnie - I think I agree with your friend Sally - life is too short to do something you don't enjoy doing. If blogging isn't something you like - then don't bother. I appreciate your blog and enjoy having a way to be connected to you guys and your family! Hope you are having a great weekend!

ME ME ME...I still read your blog all the time. I'm one of the ones that looks sometimes more than twice a day. Hee hee. You're great at it too by the way :)
Let's talk again soon. I feel like I'm having an off day and would love to find out more about your off day! I love you to pieces!

Only about 5 or 7 people read my blog, but I blog for me, mainly. If people want to read it, that's just a bonus. It's more like a journal than anything else. I guess I can't be quite as personal as I would in a journal no one reads, but I look at my blog as documentation of my everyday life. Looking back over the years of blogs, I've posted things that now I completely have forgotten about! I love it, it's funny to see the things I posted about and would normally never recall. Maybe look at your blog like something for YOU, and if anyone else gets something from it, bonus.

One of my favorites.....your blog is one of my favorites. I know how it's weird when you go through a time where you feel like you have absolutely NOTHING to write about. But then all of a sudden, it picks up again.
