Friday night we enjoyed a DELICIOUS dinner at "Ember's" in Mission with Jen and Kev. If you've never had the privilege of eating there, I strongly suggest you make it a priority the next time you're in the area. Its a tiny little place that serves the most incredible Portugese style BBQ. Mmm, mmm!!
On Saturday we were able to spend the day in White Rock with our friends Steph and Clay and their son Caleb. They were out visiting from Saskatchewan and were able to fit us into their busy schedule.
It was so fun to enjoy some fish & chips and a walk along the pier. The weather was absolutely GLORIOUS!
Steph and I
On the way home from White Rock, Jon and I stopped in at Erich & Naomi's. They are away on a camping trip with the rest of the family so Jon had to feed the fish and water the plants. I took the opportunity to get a few shots of Naomi's beautiful flowers. The colours are incredible...
Sunday night we took in the Canada Day fire works at Harrison with my sister Viv and her boyfriend Rich. Well, Viv actually missed the fireworks completely (she works at the Harrison Resort Hotel and her shift only ended at 10:30, along with the fireworks.) So we didn't really get to enjoy them WITH her but were able to hang out for a bit afterward :)
I'd say the biggest "highlight" of the weekend was on Monday when my brother and sister-in-law arrived from Saskatchewan. Jon and I got up early to meet them at the airport with my parents and then had a yummy breakfast at good ol' IHOP. We haven't seen Jen since last summer and although Craig was here for a conference in April, our time with him was very brief. We're really looking forward to having some time with both of them this next week.
Upon arriving in Chilliwack, the guys (Jon, Craig & Dad) were almost instantly on the phone to book a tee-time at Bridal Falls. Although Jen, Mom and I all golf as well, we opted for a trip to Harrison instead. Viv was working so we met up with her after her shift. Here we are with the giant Mounty Bear at the resort...
To celebrate their arrival (and a Glen family celebration of Jon's birthday, even though it was a few weeks ago), we had a BBQ at our place. It was a blast, complete with some intense volleyball action after supper. I miss playing "pepper" with Craig...I basically owe my volleyball success to him. He's taught me just about everything I know :)
Welp... that pretty much sums up our long weekend. We really enjoyed it despite the fact that things were a bit hectic. It was tough getting back to work today but alas... such is life.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

AS we're just beginning our big holiday weekend it took me a minute to figure out why your weekend was already over... so silly me. Glad it was such an enjoyable time.
baby... baby... BABY. have one.
So glad Craig and Jen made it out there. I love that your family is so close and that you all golf. I try but have no patience for a ball that refuses to go anywhere when I hit it. :0)
hey! busy weekend for you! (I love blogs) I ran into your friend Jen at the promotory starbucks while conducting a little market survey...she's privy to some of our secrets. Shhhh...but they're not really secrets so she can share :) (with you)...
BONNIE! It's me!! Where you wrote "steph and I" above the picture of the two of you, I hadn't scrolled down the page far enough so I only saw the pic of you and Jon and let me tell you I had a good laugh over that one. My, steph looks like a guy..like jon in fact. Ha ha, so silly! Love the rest of the pics and the update now that I'm so far away again! Miss you!
Hey! It was good to see you guys! Caleb crashed hardcore when we got him inside, and he got a little sunburn on his legs!! Poor little guy! We also had breaky at IHOP on the long weekend, but we were there on Sunday morning...and we also hit a Krispy Kreme, of course! Hope your week with Craig & Jen was (still is?) great!
